The
meaning of the title is Be a Malang
people has to be Happy. No excuse!! hehe..
My hometown is Malang Somewhere in East Java, surrounded by mountains,
chilled and relaxed – that makes people from this town really proud.
But, many of us are so sensitive and don't really like it if someone challenge
us. We can be rough and dangerous. It could be really good if we do it
positively. This track is to encourage Malang people to transform the
physical violence into a positive vibe. Make some musics or arts or whatever.
What makes it more special is, Sven sampled my dad's track, which is sooooo
rock!! (He's the famous Indonesian rocker, Toto Tewel, and also
really proud of Malang).. and i rap in Java.
Nova
/ TwinSista
Nova is one half of TwinSista
a female hip hop outfit from East Java, Indonesia.
As a 19 year old Nova made her first forays into hip hop with her best
friend Indry. Influenced by Lauryn Hill and the Fugees, they entered a
hip hop competition and TwinSista was born. They contributed tracks to
independent compilation album Perang
Rap (2001) and then toured through Java.
With the support of a music producer, Iqbal (Calludra) and Pasukan Record,
TwinSista released their first album, Mother
of Nature in 2003. In March 2007 Nova returned
to Yogya to record her first solo single, Dikawinkan
Alam which was released on the compilation Hip
Hop Poetry Battle.
Nova came to Australia as part of the Gang
Festival 2008.
